MEMORIAL NURSE MANAGER
RECEIVES PATRIOT AWARD

(Belleville, Illinois) Sandy Guymon, RN, nurse manager of Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department was honored today with a Patriot Award from the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). Guymon was nominated for this award by Jennifer Stoner, RN, of O’Fallon, a first lieutenant in the Air National Guard and a nurse in Memorial’s Emergency Department.
In nominating Guymon for this honor, Stoner noted that all of the management staff in the Emergency Room as well as in Personnel/HR has been extremely supportive of her service in the Air National Guard.
“I am easily scheduled off for guard drill as well as annual tour,” she said. “I am honored to work at a facility that is so supportive of their military members.”
Clyde Jones of Bethalto, a civilian volunteer with ESGR and military veteran, recognized Guymon for contributing to the national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting employee participation in America’s National Guard and Reserve force.
ESGR was established to gain and maintain employer support for the Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support and increasing awareness.
