Memorial Care Center Receives Best of Belleville Award and Named
One of ‘America’s Best Nursing Homes’ by US News and World Report

Patriot Award

(Belleville, Illinois) Memorial Care Center was recently selected for the 2009 Best of Belleville Award in the skilled nursing care facilities category by the U.S. Commerce Association (USCA) and named one of “America’s Best Nursing Homes” by U.S. News and World Report.

The USCA “Best of Local Business” Award Program recognizes outstanding businesses throughout the country and each year identifies those that have achieved exceptional marketing success and enhanced the positive image of small businesses through service to their customers and community. Criteria for the award focused on quality of services and was obtained by the USCA and other third parties.

Memorial Care Center was ranked among more than 15,000 nursing homes in the country for the U.S. News and World Report award. Nationally, only 41 nursing homes received honor roll status from the magazine. The facility received a five star status, with five stars being the best. Criteria came from federal government guidelines and included health inspections, nurse staffing and quality measures of individual care. These measures come from data nursing homes are required to collect and report for each resident.

Memorial Care Center is licensed and certified by the Illinois Department of Public Health and is connected to Memorial Hospital. It is a 108-bed facility offering high-quality skilled nursing and rehabilitative services. The center's staff strives to assist each patient in maintaining self-respect and dignity while providing needed professional services. The facility offers state-of-the-art skilled services for post-operative or short-term rehabilitative care as well as comprehensive skilled nursing services including wound care and intravenous therapy.
