Memorial Hospital Receives ACR Accreditation in
Mammography and Breast Ultrasound

(BELLEVILLE, IL) Memorial Hospital has been awarded three-year accreditation in mammography and breast ultrasound as a result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

“I am proud of our team who worked hard to achieve this accreditation,” said Pam Holbrook, director of diagnostic services. “Obtaining the ACR accreditation is truly a team effort.”

The ACR awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of the practice. Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. They assess the qualifications of staff and the adequacy of facility equipment.

In addition to being accredited in mammography and breast ultrasound, Memorial is ACR accredited in ultrasound breast biopsies, MRI, and diagnostic ultrasound.

Memorial Hospital offers state-of-the-art inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging services including CT scanning, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), diagnostic x-ray, breast health center, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine, including SPECT (single photon emission computed tomography).
